The Xilingol, a light horse used for both riding and draft work, is found in central inner Mongolia. It was developed in the 1960's from the Russian Thoroughbred, Akhal-Teke, Sanhe, and Chinese Mongolian Horse, and later Kabarda and Don breeding was introduced.
