There are a lot of different riding clothes
on the market. For English riders, there are breeches, jodhpurs, hunt coats,
tall riding boots, and tons of others. Western riders use chaps with fringes,
slinky shirts, colorful vests, cowboy hats, cowboy boots, and colorful, bright
jewelry. Saddle seat riders wear swallowtail coats and derby hats and tall
riding boots. Lots of riders just wear jeans, a t-shirt, and paddock boots to
ride, the way I do. ALWAYS remember to wear your riding helmet, though! Set an
example for the younger riders who are observing you, older riders! and you
younger riders...wear them because you've got your whole life ahead of you and
it's the smart thing to do.
A lot of riders wear riding gloves, which you
can get in variety from winter riding gloves to barrel racing gloves. Chaps are
also common, because you can wear them over almost anything. Half chaps are
available for those who just wear jeans but want extra grip on the saddle.
