Rachel
Clift has been teaching lessons at Equine Kingdom Riding Academy as a freelance
instructor since October 2010.
Horses have always been a passion of hers, and she has been riding for around
15 years. She showed competitively in Connecticut, her hometown, for over 12
years.
In college, she turned to the Houghton College Equestrian Team to fulfill her
need for horses. She has owned her own horse for almost 11 years, and has
traveled all around Western New York for competitions with her Equestrian Team.
After giving informal riding lessons to friends, family, and people of all
ages, she is now pursuing a career as a riding instructor. Her full-time job
keeps her work here at Equine Kingdom part time, and she is getting married in
September 2011, so her teaching time is currently fairly limited.

Rachel hopes to increase her teaching time this coming fall, and looks
forward to all the wonderful people that she will get to teach! She specializes
in teaching beginner riders the basics of how to ride, giving them a wonderfully
solid foundation to build upon.
She loves to give her riders patterns to learn, fun exercises to practice,
and going on trail rides through the woods as a relaxing break at the end of a
hard lesson's work!
Ms. Clift loves to ride whenever she has the chance, and she is wonderful
will all of the horses - she has a firm, steady hand but is incredibly kind and
giving to the horses. She has helped some of our stubborn lesson horses become
better jumpers, improved their way of going, and helps keep up with their
"tune-ups". We love having her on board as one of our riding instructors!
